ALMA MATER Very few things in life stick in your mind as strongly as something you MUST learn under great stress and pressure. Such a thing was the song all OCS candidates learned to sing with extreme pride and great enthusiasm. Even today, after more than 40 years have passed, the words and notes come to memory just like it was yesterday. This song is a simple testament to the training and lessons learned during our time at Ft. Benning. Singing this song was sacred. It was the only thing that could stop everything dead in its tracks. Things like physical training (PT), marching, eating, class, the infamous "grass Drills", etc. all immediately stopped as every OCS candidate in the company would come to the position of attention and sing together as a platoon or whole company.
